CHICAGO (July 26, 2016) – RETEC has joined Two Sides North America, the non-profit organization that promotes and encourages the responsible production, use, and sustainability of print and paper.
“The world of paper is constantly evolving through amazing innovations that make an inherently sustainable product even more sustainable. RETEC is a great example of this through their high-tech, high-barrier paper coating that allows paper to be re-pulped into new products, compared to conventional barriers that make paper non re-usable. We welcome the RETEC team to our network and look forward to working with them in promoting the sustainability of paper products,” says Two Sides North America President, Phil Riebel.
“Our team has developed RF3 as a substitute for Wax and Polyethylene coatings so that the material can be repulped, recycled and composted. Our Founder, Francois Dandenault, has perfected this Repulpable Fast Film Formation (RF3) Technology and it is now available to the Packaging and Printing markets. We are very excited to join Two Sides North America, to promote the responsible production, use and reuse of fiber,” says Dan Hoffman, Business Development Manager, RETEC.
RETEC was founded in early 1995 with the mission of developing new products (RF3) and technologies for the paper and packaging industries. From its headquarters located in Granby, Quebec, Canada, RETEC has developed, patented and commercially produced a high-tech, high-barrier coating that is fully repulpable. This new technology platform RF3, called as well “REFIB©”, comprise a range of polymers that are poised to replace existing coating technologies because of their superior performance characteristics. Our technology provides for a water-based coating that is resistant to water vapor, oxygen, carbon dioxide, oil and grease. The product is cost competitive with PE and wax-based barrier coatings when applied, but unlike these, it is 100% recyclable.
