U.S. forest products industry avoids the emission of approximately 218 million tonnes of CO2E

Each year's use of biomass-based manufacturing residuals (including black liquor) in the U.S. forest products industry avoids the emission of approximately 218 million tonnes of CO2E, which is more than three times the annual direct emissions of CO2 from fossil fuel combustion in the industry.
